Puglia Uncovered is a first-hand guide to Puglia, researched, written and kept up to date by one person who knows the region. This page explains how the guides are made and how we try to get them right.

Who writes this site

Every page is written and edited by Antonio Marchese, who grew up in the province of Brindisi and spent thirty years living in Puglia. It is one local’s point of view, not a rotating team of writers paid by the word. The aim is simple: advice that reads like it comes from a friend who actually knows the place.

How we research and check facts

The recommendations, which town to base yourself in, which beach is worth the drive, which masseria is the real thing, come from real knowledge of the region rather than being copied from other sites. Practical details that change over time, such as opening seasons, travel times, distances, prices and historical facts, are checked against reliable, current sources before a page goes live.

Where something is uncertain or varies from year to year, we say so plainly rather than invent a precise figure. When things change on the ground we update the page, and if we get something wrong we correct it.

Written by a human, not a machine

These guides are written and checked by a person who has spent time in the places described. We do not publish auto-generated, AI-written filler. If a place cannot be recommended honestly, it does not go in.

Puglia Uncovered is free to read, and recommendations are made on merit, never in exchange for payment. When you book a stay, an experience or a rental car through some of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The full detail is on our affiliate disclosure. Weddings work a little differently: venues and vendors pay to be listed, and we only earn a commission on honeymoon and guest stays.
