Glamping in Puglia
Puglia’s olive groves and quiet coast are made for sleeping close to the land, without giving up a real bed or a hot shower. Safari tents, geodesic eco-domes, lodges and the odd vintage airstream have popped up across the region, most with a pool and all with that slow, sun-and-cicadas feel. It’s the nature option, with the comforts left in.
Why go glamping in Puglia
Glamping sits between camping and a hotel: canvas or a dome on the outside, a proper bed, often a private bathroom and a pool on the inside. It suits couples and families who want to wake up among olive trees or near the sea, on a smaller budget than a masseria and with more character than a standard hotel. It’s not a whole villa, you’re a guest on a farm or estate, but that’s part of the charm.
The kinds of glamping you’ll find
Three broad styles, by setting.
Safari tents in the olive groves
The classic: a furnished canvas tent on a working farm in the countryside, usually with a private bathroom, a little kitchen and a shared or private pool. Atmospheric and great value, mostly around Fasano and the Valle d’Itria.
Eco-domes & design lodges
Geodesic domes and architect-designed lodges for a more luxe, romantic stay, think a transparent roof for stargazing and a private deck. The higher-end of glamping, and there are only a handful of them.
On a wine estate or by the sea
Glampsites set on working vineyards near Manduria, with tastings, cookery and yoga on tap, or agri-camps near the Salento and Ionian beaches for a sand-first trip. Pick the estate or the coast to match your week.

What to know before you book
It’s seasonal
Most sites run May to September and close in winter. Late spring and early autumn give you warm days and thinner crowds. See when to visit.
You’ll need a car
Glampsites are rural and often unsigned, a car is essential. See renting a car.
Check bathroom & pool
Confirm whether the bathroom is private or shared, whether there’s air conditioning (it matters in August), and if the pool is shared with the whole site.
Book early for summer
Good tents and domes are limited and sell out for July-August. Reserve well ahead, or aim for the shoulder months.
