How do foreign couples get married in Puglia?
There are two routes. A legally binding civil ceremony in Italy, which needs real paperwork: passports, recent birth certificates and a nulla osta issued by your own consulate in Italy, with sworn translations and a realistic timeline of about six months. Or the route most international couples take, marrying legally at home and holding a symbolic ceremony here, which needs no Italian paperwork and can be held anywhere.
What kinds of wedding venue are there in Puglia?
Four broad families: the five-star resort masserie of the Savelletri coast near Fasano, rustic working estates with real scale, design-led masserie around Ostuni, and trulli, hilltop and historic settings. Our venue directory lists nineteen of them with capacity, catering and drive time from the nearest airport.
When is the best time of year for a wedding in Puglia?
Mid-May to June and September are the sweet spots: warm days, long soft light and a sea that is still swimmable in September. July and August bring real heat, peak prices and the Ferragosto crowds.
Do you need a wedding planner in Puglia?
Most couples marrying here from abroad benefit from local help, because they are planning remotely, many suppliers and town hall officials work in Italian, and the legal paperwork is exacting. A very small elopement, or a venue with a genuinely strong in-house events team, may not need a full planner.
How far ahead should you book?
Eighteen to twenty-four months for the best venues, and especially for a Saturday in June or September.
